FAXING ORDERSYou have the option of sending your orders by fax, though we recommend this is only used in emergencies. Please try to ensure you send orders at a sensible time of day. Unfortunately there are a minority of fax users who are highly inconsiderate and like to fax orders through in the middle of the night, and we don't really like the fax machine squealing away at three in the morning. FAX ACCOUNTSUse of the fax facilities is open to all players but it's intended to be there for those playing from abroad and those needing it as a last minute emergency option. There is a cost for receiving faxes (line rental, printing costs and the cost of the machine itself) and we pass this cost on to the users. The charge is 20p per page received or 0.1 credit per page received (for all games where part credits are in use). If a fax account is required (in the former instance) then this requires some extra book keeping on our part, which we handle by keeping an account for each fax user. Users may pay money direct into their fax account, but normally when your account is empty we simply deduct a turn credit and translate this into an amount to top up your fax account. FAX QUALITYThe quality of faxes received is often poor, even though we use very high quality plain paper machines. There's nothing we can do if we can't read your fax, so our advice is to not use it unless you really have to. You should take extra care with writing your orders if they are to be faxed, and use clear bold lettering (BLACK is best, and if you can't use black then RED is better than blue). A large proportion of unreadable faxes would have been fine if they'd been written in black or red. Take extra care to mind your O's and D's, of which there are often many. FAX DEADLINESFaxed orders must be sent by 10am the day of the deadline. If your orders aren't there at that time then they'll probably miss the deadline (we start running games as soon after 10am as possible, to ensure the results are back in the post to you the same day). Don't ring to ask if we'll wait for you to fax orders in later in the day, we won't - that's not fair on everyone else. The bottom line is if you wait until the last minute you aren't being very smart, and you shouldn't be surprised if something goes wrong. |
