Pirates is now online and available at www.cockeye.co.uk.

Pirates is a fairly simple game, written in HTML and Javascript, which means that anyone with a browser can play it. It's not expensive to deliver: it downloads as quickly (or as slowly) as any other website. It seems to work OK with recent editions of Explorer, Navigator and Firefox. I haven't tried it with older versions.

If some people were to try it out and tell me whether they find it works or not, if they find it interesting, or pointless, or whatever, then that would be useful.

It'd take some feedback to turn the help facility into anything useful, so if you use it, and don't find what you're looking for, email me and let me know what page you came from and what you were looking for.

It's only a prototype, so it doesn't have proper artwork. Artwork costs money, and it's not obvious how a game delivered this way would pay for itself.

There are lots of other things that could be added, improved or extended - and some stuff I left out - but the same considerations apply. If you've got any ideas on how to built commercially viable games using the technology this game demonstrates then I hope you'll talk to me.
