All of our games have been converted to email game reports as PDF files, so you can use the Adobe Reader utility to view and print your results. It's much simpler to use. You need to be able to receive attachments, but then you need only one click to open it, and can view or print directly from the open file.

If you haven't already got Adobe Reader then it's a free download - don't worry if you can't use the latest version. The older versions work just fine.
The new season in Cricket Stats is up and running. This currently covers the domestic First Class game in England & Wales (along with the domestic test series). Later we'll look at starting a long-deadline game covering all of test cricket. The County Championship game will be seasonal, but the Test Match game would run all year round. We won't be including limited overs games, at least for the time being.
Logo The new season in Play On is up and running with a change of GM (Norm retired so the game is now run by Danny - Dave Flesfader provides a postbox service in in Australia for players without internet access).
We're also looking at whether we could run a new Australian Rules Football strategy game but the level of feedback so far suggests there wouldn't be enough interest.

We no longer offer games run locally in other countries - but if you submit your orders on the website and receive your game reports by email then you no longer need a local GM. See costs & credits for payment details if you want to play from the other side of the world.

The active website at softsim now includes an option for online credit card payments. This works in directly US dollars, Aussie dollars and sterling. Other currencies work with a conversion option (prices are quoted in one of our three main currencies - but the actual amount in your own currency is calculated and quoted for you before you commit yourself to the transaction).

QUOTES

"It is unwise to pay too much but it is worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that is all. When you pay too little you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business prohibits paying too little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you just deal with the lowest bidder it is well to add something for the risk you run and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better"
John Ruskin 1819-1900

"Debugging is at least twice as hard as coding, so if you write the code in the cleverest way you know how, by definition, you won't be clever enough to debug it"
Anon, probably in fear of being lynched by computer geeks.

Actually the real point is to write your code in the plainest way possible - or you'll spend four times as much on maintenance and modifications as you did writing it.
